Servings Per Recipe: 10 Calories: 327.2

Ingredients:

  • salt to taste
  • 6 small potatoes, cubed
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 (15.25 ounce) can whole kernel corn
  • ½ pound bacon
  • 2 stalks celery, chopped
  • 1 (14.75 ounce) can cream-style corn
  • 2 carrot, (7-1/2")s carrots, chopped
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons margarine
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 medium (2-1/2" dia)s small onion, diced

Directions:

  1. In a skillet, cook the bacon until it is almost done. Sauté the onions and celery until they are gently browned.
  2. Place in a cooking pot. Combine cream-style corn, kernel corn, butter, and broth in a large mixing bowl. Carrots and potatoes should be added at this point. Cooking time is around 15 minutes.
  3. To make a paste, combine flour and a little water.
  4. Combine the milk and flour paste in a mixing bowl. Depending on how thick you prefer your chowder, you may need to add additional flour paste. Cook for 30 minutes, or until ready to serve. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
