Ingredients:
- ¾ cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ¾ cup white sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup butter flavored shortening
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees C).
- With a wooden spoon, cream together the shortening, white sugar, and brown sugar in a medium mixing basin. Mix in the eggs and vanilla extract thoroughly. Sift the flour, baking soda, and salt together and fold them into the creamed mixture. Finally, whisk in the semisweet and white chips, using your hands if necessary if the batter is too stiff.
- Drop cookies by heaping spoonfuls onto cookie sheets that haven't been prepped. In a preheated oven, bake for 7 to 10 minutes. I prefer to remove my cookies from the oven when they are still light brown and not quite set. It makes the cookie softer. Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
