Sour Cream Pound Cake Recipe

I obtained the recipe from a great-aunt over 40 years ago, and it's much superior than the regular pound cake.

Sour Cream Pound Cake

Servings Per Recipe: 10 Calories: 311.8

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup butter
  • 1 pinch baking soda
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 ½ cups white sugar

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees C). A 8x4 inch loaf pan should be greased and floured.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together in a large mixing basin until light and creamy. Combine the sour cream and eggs in a mixing bowl.
  3. Mix in the flour and a pinch of baking soda. Fill an 8x4 inch loaf pan halfway with batter.
  4. Bake for 1 hour at 375°F (190°C), or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
