Grandma's Chew Bread Recipe
Brown sugar and nuts abound in this southern-style bar cookie. In the afternoon, unwind by chewing on some of these.

Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 4 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 pound brown sugar
Directions:
- Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit ( 200 degrees C ). A 15x10x1 inch jellyroll pan should be greased.
- Combine the sugar and eggs in a heavy pot. Cook, stirring regularly, until the sugar has dissolved over medium heat. Stir in the flour, salt, vanilla, and pecans after removing the pan from the heat.
- Bake for 15 minutes in a preheated oven after spooning the mixture into the prepared baking tray. Allow to cool before cutting into squares.
